Thistler's dine surreal... via digiscopic ocular.

~My goldfinch feeder bag is suspended above a stone miniture elf on a swing. The two ropes shown are held in the cold hands of a Mr. Monk while my birds use the same ropes to gain a purch to their all time favorite food... thistle seeds. (digipix preview) I never see them eating anything else and these seeds are tiny. It could be that 100 thistle seeds equals only one calorie and they might need 50-100 calories on a bad day? This winter I have three 12" long nylon bags going and as many as 20 finches visiting my "Mr.Monk" station all day.

Fall's Frosty Evenings: change rosebud's revelation!

click the pix

~I always look for late rosebuds that are not able to get open__ because of fall's colder evening weather. These special little buds will usually open if you bring them in. digipix preview Jo Anne tries to have summer roses mixed into her fresh cut flowers for our kitchen table as often as possible. Now, bud vases used to be solid silver (1750's) when the family silver coins were silversmithed into these beautiful containers for over the fireplace. When my "Frost's Rosebud" opened I just took a quick shot straight on that beautifully cold-compressed newbe like face!

Parasite cycles life... in beetles immortal clinch.

click the pix
~There is a very tiny parasite on the back of the above beetle. She is drilling a hole to lay her eggs.
digipix preview At the very same time, the two opposing beetles are in the process of continueing their own life cycles as well. The precision of these two essential events is symbolized in the mulit-mirrior digipix dramatics. This odd synchronization is brought on by genetic life forces driven in and of nature that have existed without fail for millions and millions__ and millions of years.

~When I got a close look at this little guy's attitude... I thought he might be on the look-out. digipix preview What more could be going on deep inside my wife's golden lily? Like bank robbers, he and his pals were stealing sweet nectar without paying the flower's price of fertilization. The penality could be serious... entrapment and/or death! Ants have "NO FEAR... of anything!" and the have jumped on my camera when I get close enough. This little one in perticular__ laughed at ME! He then & there became my spirit messenger. I'm still not sure who's laugh is in the flowers?

Full Twilight's Moon

click the pix "Zodiac's greeting rises__ entangled."....~(:-_))-kfh
~Moon shots are always difficult. I remember using my tripod (in single-leg post) to find openings in the tangled trees of our backyard. The tricky ground sloped down and as others have chased... "that most of ever beautiful moon never stops a movin'... upwards and onward, like a flat-out freight train! " Travelers of the night, I'm sure... are pleased with crystal clear skys... permitting full bright moon's light__ to shine the all of night!" kfh

ps: Make time to take the moon's magic... into all you hearts!

Sue's Bee... books.

click the pix

~Books from Sue's personal library, on honey bees and all, were appreciated and returned on time. The mat background leaf is called "Elephant Ear". It's a tropical bulb. I shot this grand leaf from underneath, filtering through the direct sun light. This photo on photo composite in print (with mask & frame) went to SueD for her generosity. digipix preview I am planning a kids photo holding these marvelous leaf creations on either side ot their heads... hopefully sometime this coming summer season and certain to be full of new beauty-ops!

Six shooter's bee view.

~These strawflowers share pollen for sex! The visitors positioning points to sweets of nectar or predation, bee or fly? I think Norman Jewison, movie director, gets credit for this split screen/photo technique. I had this series of photos because I was testing the manual focus mode of my new camera. These flowers are very active (opening & closing) much to my surprise and delight! (see comment links)

Are you a poet... just don't know it? Do big feet show it? Did you ever hear "Longfellow" by Days of the New, II. It's a very catchy tune that repeats like this mirror photo. The little bee poem you are trying to think of... is right below. This bee shot surprised me because the direct sun made her wings look like they were stained glass. (see comments)

Fiction reveals obscurities; to R.Waldo E.

~I don't have the taste for good fiction? Non-fiction can stink out the joint, at times. News editors now ride in ...What?.. Blogamobiles! While hot rumors fly on wings: flickered by cold laser lightbeams. Reality? "When I dream, it's always about a dreamer__ who falls to sleep and too has a dream__ Like (click here) and dreams about who else.. but me!" This deaplink is OLD... & on the web for over 10 years... maybe?
