>Hens>Chicks>Eggs>..... for Aunt Ruth

Blog|Jump-Clix
~Aunt Ruth gave me more "Hens & Chicks" than I knew what to do with?
She told me, "They like to be near rocks! Start a rock garden... like mine." She was right... but I don't remember telling her that?
~ After we lost the last of her many suckulents in transplant... we bought the above potted arrangement in rememberance and all. I wish I would have at least tried to find more a proper size of rocks. I think they need a milder climate than what we have around here too?
~ Aunt Ruth gave me a lot of good advice over the years! I tried hard to take it all in. Her very best was: "Faith... by good example."

Hen and Chicks is supposed to be easy to grow, but I have never done well with it. I think maybe our soil is too dense here.

I know how it is with plants in memory of the plants that died. I had an African Violet that had been my mother's. I nearly killed it several times but I managed to keep it alive for 7 years before I did it in. Recently I bought another one that has very similar blooms in memory of the one that was my mother's. I have other African Violets that I do fine with, but that one plant just seemed to be kind of touchy and I wasn't careful enough with it, I guess.
