1. The ancestor of every action is just a thought.
2. Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered__ you will never grow.
And so: "He builded better than he knew; the conscious stone to beauty grew."

Are you a fan of all the Transcendentalists, or just mainly of Emerson? Emerson was brilliant, no doubt about it. I like Thoreau also. They looked at life with optimism, and they believed that truth and beauty could be perceived by the spirit in ways that transcended the five senses.
Thanks so much and yes I am... but not as you might think? as Thoreau turned Emerson's garden every year & he was a next generation relative and faithful follower. When HDT almost burned down their town... his grand Uncle E put him up in a little shack on Walden's pond and their mother's family side of large properties.
Henry was safe & out of harms way long enough to take Ms.Fuller for a parasol pondboat ride at his beloved mentor's personal insists.
What does your instinct (6th and most telling human/human sense) reveal IF all this odd like insight is true?
And it is! Thanks "Gene" ~(:-_))-kfh
